Tabby vs Tamara Comparison Calculator 2026, Real Payment Schedule
Interactive calculator comparing Tabby's interest-free Pay in 4 and Tamara's interest-free Split in 3, with the exact monthly due-date schedule for your purchase amount.
Every site comparing Tabby and Tamara repeats the same generic line — "both are interest-free" — without showing you an actual number for your own purchase. This calculator builds the real monthly due-date schedule for each plan, using figures the two providers publish about their own payment mechanics.
How Each Plan Actually Works, in the Providers' Own Words
Tabby, Pay in 4
Tabby describes its standard plan as: "The first payment is collected at the time of purchase, and the remaining ones are collected the same day every month according to your plan." That means:
| Payment | Timing | Share of total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | At purchase | 25% |
| 2 | After 1 month | 25% |
| 3 | After 2 months | 25% |
| 4 | After 3 months | 25% |
No interest or fees if you pay on time. Late payment can trigger collection fees (published for some markets) and may negatively affect your credit record.
Tamara, Split in 3
Tamara describes its plan as "always fee-free" with a published 0% annual percentage rate, over 3 equal monthly payments:
| Payment | Timing | Share of total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | At purchase | 33.3% |
| 2 | After 1 month | 33.3% |
| 3 | After 2 months | 33.3% |
The Real Difference Between the Two Plans
The difference isn't cost (both are interest-free when paid on time) — it's how the commitment is spread out:
- Tabby: you pay only a quarter (25%) today, with the rest spread across 3 smaller payments. Better if you prefer lighter monthly amounts.
- Tamara: you pay a third (33.3%) today, but your future commitment ends a month sooner than Tabby's (two payments left, not three).
Practical example: a 1,200 SAR bill.
- Tabby: 4 × 300 SAR (today + monthly for three months)
- Tamara: 3 × 400 SAR (today + monthly for two months)
Same total (1,200 SAR), completely different cash-flow schedule.
What This Calculator Deliberately Does Not Cover
The longer plans (6–12 months) at both providers carry interest or fees, but no single published rate applies to everyone — it varies by merchant and by the specific offer shown to you at checkout. Displaying a default number here would be a guess, not a fact, so it's deliberately left out. Check the actual rate shown in the app before accepting any longer plan.
Your actual credit limit at each app (how much you can even buy) is computed by an individual internal algorithm and has nothing to do with this calculator — see the Tabby & Tamara credit limit guide for that.
Safe-Use Tips
- Total your commitments across both apps together, not plan by plan — it's easy to forget you have 3 active plans running at once.
- Stay under 60% of your available limit so you keep flexibility for emergencies.
- Set manual payment reminders — even a single day late can be logged negatively.
- BNPL providers have been supervised by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) since 2023, and report repayment behavior to SIMAH — your on-time record builds your future credit history.
Practical Questions
Do I pay a fee for the first payment collected immediately, then the rest on schedule? No — the first payment isn't a "fee," it's simply part of the same purchase amount split into installments. The total you pay stays equal to the original purchase price.
Can I pay off all installments early in one go? Usually yes, directly in the app, and it doesn't reduce the total since there's no interest to begin with — the only benefit is closing the commitment early.
What happens if I return a product bought via Tabby/Tamara? Paid installments are typically refunded per the merchant's and provider's policy, but repeated returns may be read as a negative signal in your future risk algorithm.
