Oman Air Guide 2026: Destinations and Cabin Classes

Oman's national carrier: its hub in Muscat, its regional and international coverage, and the booking classes available from Economy to Business.

Oman Air isn't among the "big three Gulf carriers" Saudi travelers usually hear about, but it's a real option for destinations larger carriers don't cover with the same density — especially using Muscat as a connection point.

The airline and its main hub

Oman Air is the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, and its main hub is Muscat International Airport (MCT), which serves as the connecting gateway between its domestic and international flights.

Coverage: regional with international reach, not fully intercontinental

The airline's network focuses on the Gulf, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia, with a number of selected European destinations — not a fully intercontinental global network the size of its larger regional competitors. 2026 schedule additions include Muscat–Amsterdam, Muscat–Copenhagen, Muscat–Baghdad, a Salalah–Moscow link, and the return of Muscat–Singapore from July 2026 on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

A note before booking

If your destination falls within the airline's coverage (the Gulf, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia), Muscat makes for a solid connection point often at lower prices than larger regional carriers on the same route — but if your destination is a far intercontinental one (North America or Australia, for example), you'll most likely need an additional connecting flight the airline doesn't offer directly.

الأسئلة الشائعة

International with a mainly regional to mid-haul reach — Oman's national carrier covers the Gulf, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and a number of European destinations, not a wide intercontinental network like its larger regional competitors.
Muscat International Airport (MCT) is the primary hub and the connecting gateway between its domestic and international flights.
Economy and Business, with the Business seat using a fully flat 'Apex Suite' design in a 6-across cabin layout, plus a First class on select routes only, not the whole network.
2026 schedule additions include Muscat–Amsterdam, Muscat–Copenhagen, Muscat–Baghdad, a Salalah–Moscow link, and the return of Muscat–Singapore starting July 2026 on Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
For anyone wanting a fully flat seat on a mid- or long-haul flight, yes — the Apex Suite is designed exactly for that. For a short intra-Gulf hop, the difference usually isn't worth the extra cost.
