Etihad Airways is the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, and its hub is Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi. The airline covers around 106 destinations across six continents, and added 13 new routes during 2026 alone across China, the US, Europe, and the wider Middle East — reinforcing Abu Dhabi as a long-haul transit point between East and West.

Notable 2026 additions
The double-decker A380 began operating between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo Narita on 16 June 2026, and a new seasonal direct route between Gothenburg, Sweden, and Abu Dhabi launched with four weekly flights starting 17 December 2026.
An honest note
First class on Etihad is genuinely rare — just two suites per flight on eligible aircraft, so demand outpaces supply in busy seasons. If your route needs the highest privacy level and First isn't available, Business (fully flat, direct aisle access) is a strong alternative at a much lower price gap.
