"Mawid" was the first digital service launched by the Saudi Ministry of Health (2017) for booking primary-care and government hospital appointments. With the later launch of Sehhaty, Mawid became a specialised booking arm — the two apps complement each other. URL: mawid.moh.gov.sa.

Booking steps from Mawid

Reschedule or cancel an appointment
- Reschedule: from the app → Appointments → select the appointment → "Reschedule" → pick an alternative date. Rescheduling is allowed up to 4 hours before the appointment.
- Cancel: same path, choose "Cancel." Please cancel at least a day before to free the slot for someone else.
Note: 3 consecutive no-shows lock booking for 7 days.
Attending your appointment
- 10 minutes before: that's what's required.
- QR code in the app: opens the electronic gate at reception if automated.
- ID card: may be requested at human reception.
- Active Sehhaty account: some centres link reception to your account.
Picking the best primary-care centre
The primary-care centre is your gateway to the entire health system. Choosing well saves time and effort:

- Confirm before going: the doctor sometimes cancels for emergencies — you'll get a notice.
- Prepare documents beforehand: previous tests, prescriptions, imaging reports — don't rely solely on the electronic record.
- Dental slots are short: arrive early — often 30 minutes total.

Each Saudi administrative region has one or more clusters (see the official clusters list): Riyadh First and Second and Third Cluster, Jeddah Cluster, Makkah Cluster, Madinah Cluster, Eastern Cluster… etc. Find your cluster from Sehhaty or Mawid → "My Health Info" → "Health Cluster."
Does Mawid Work for Expats?
Yes — expats in Saudi Arabia use Mawid with the same privileges, provided they're under the umbrella of Cooperative Health Insurance (employer insurance), since government hospitals are primarily for citizens. Practically:
- Primary care: available to expats for emergencies and some basic services.
- Government hospitals: expats need a referral from their insurance hospital, not from a government primary-care centre.
- Electronic prescriptions: dispensed to expats from network pharmacies via Wasfaty tied to private insurance.
For expats — the largest use of Mawid is booking appointments at private insurance-network hospitals connected to the Ministry's grid, not the major specialty government hospitals.
