Sehhaty App 2026: Complete Guide — Appointments, Prescriptions, Health Record
Guide to the Sehhaty app — health-centre registration, appointment booking, e-prescriptions, vaccination certificates, unified medical record, and insurance verification.
Sehhaty is the official digital gateway to the Saudi Ministry of Health, connecting citizens and residents to the full health system: from primary-care centre to hospital, from prescription to pharmacy. Official URL: sehhaty.sa or the "Sehhaty" mobile app on iOS/Android.
Before Sehhaty (2018), a patient walked into a centre for a paper ticket, waited hours, and carried paper cards between hospitals. Today everything is unified in one app with a full digital medical record.
Main Sehhaty services
| Service | Description | |---|---| | Primary-care centre registration | Links you to a centre near your address; becomes your default destination | | Appointment booking | Centres, hospitals (post-referral), vaccination appointments | | E-prescriptions | Every government prescription appears digitally | | Medication dispensing | Government pharmacy or partner pharmacy | | Vaccination certificates | For your children and for travellers, with official seal | | Unified medical record | Medical history, tests, imaging, diagnoses | | Insurance verification | If insured through employment, shows your cover and providers | | Health isolation | Follow-up if you're in quarantine or as a contact | | Sehhaty digital card | The digital health ID, replacing old paper cards |

Booking a health-centre appointment
Rest assured you no longer walk in for a number:
- From Home, choose "Appointments" → "New Booking."
- Select your registered centre (or search another).
- Choose the specialty (general, family, paediatrics, dentistry, etc.).
- Available days and times appear — pick what suits you.
- Confirm — booking number and QR code appear in the app.
- Go at appointment time and show the QR at reception.
E-prescription and medication
After your doctor's visit, the prescription is written digitally and delivered in the app:
- Dispense from a government pharmacy: free for citizens. Go to any government pharmacy or major centre and show the prescription code.
- Dispense from a partner private pharmacy: per your insurance cover. As long as insurance includes the medication, it's dispensed without payment.
- Rare medications: may need scheduled pickup or referral to a specialty hospital.
Note: prescriptions have a validity window — typically 7-30 days depending on the medication. If expired, you need a new visit.
Vaccination certificates
A common service before travel or child school enrolment:
- Routine child vaccinations: appear automatically after each dose.
- Official travel certificate: printable PDF with e-seal, recognised in most countries.
- Yellow fever vaccination: for travellers to Africa and South America — issued with the international certificate.
- Hajj vaccination: mandatory for pilgrims (Meningitis, Influenza).
Unified medical record
Every visit, test, scan, and diagnosis at any government facility is recorded in your file:
- Medical history.
- Current and past medications.
- Allergies (critical in emergencies).
- Chronic conditions.
- Latest test results.
This record is shared with the doctor at every visit — no need to re-explain.
Health insurance and private sector
- If you're insured through employment: the app shows your insurer, approved providers, and cover limits.
- Private hospital care: needs pre-approval for some cases; visible in the app.
- Emergency: usually dispensed without prior approval.
For your insurance company details: the "Insurance" section in the app.
Common mistakes
- Care centre far from your home: complicates appointments. Update it to the nearest in Sehhaty settings.
- Notifications off: you miss appointments. Enable in phone settings.
- Old mobile number: blocks OTP for prescriptions. Update in Absher first, then Sehhaty.
- Walk-in without a booking number: may not be served during full appointment slots.
- Booking without attending: two consecutive no-shows lock booking for a week.
Sehhaty's relationship with other health apps
| App | Focus | Note | |---|---|---| | Mawid | Government hospital appointments | Part of Sehhaty | | Wasfaty | Prescription management | Integrated inside Sehhaty | | Ana | Detailed medical record | Complementary with Sehhaty | | Seha | Remote medical consultation | Complementary — standalone app | | Tawakkalna | COVID and general health cases | Complementary — standalone app |
