Absher is a platform operated by the Saudi Ministry of Interior that links digital services across sectors including Passports, Traffic, Civil Affairs, and Civil Defense. Launched officially in 2010 and expanded gradually since, it now delivers hundreds of services connected with government and private entities via absher.sa or its official app.
The identity and mobile data registered in Absher form the reference that Nafath (National Unified Access) uses to authenticate you when signing in to any other government platform — Qiwa, Sakani, Citizen Account, Najiz, Sehhaty, Tawakkalna, and others.

Common Problems and Fixes
- "Mobile number doesn't match": the number entered isn't registered in your name with your telecom. Check your operator app (myStc, My Mobily, Zain) and update ownership data with your ID.
- "My account is locked from failed attempts": the account locks after consecutive failed attempts and unlocks automatically after a cooldown, or use "Forgot Password" to reset.
- "The SMS code doesn't arrive": could be forwarding or reception. Move to better coverage, or use "Resend Code" after the wait period shown on screen.
- "Can't activate via bank app": most Saudi banks (Al Rajhi, SNB/AlAhli, Riyad Bank, and others) offer "Absher Activation" inside the app under government services. If your bank doesn't, use an ATM.
- "ID not recognized": check the ID expiry. Expired IDs cannot create accounts.
Account Security — Non-Negotiables
- Never share your username or password with anyone, even someone claiming to be from the Ministry. The Ministry never calls asking for these.
- Enable two-factor verification in account settings — an SMS code will be required on every sign-in.
- Never open Absher links from SMS or WhatsApp — type the URL directly in your browser.
- Review the sign-in log in account settings periodically to spot unfamiliar logins.
Fraud against Absher accounts is common, mainly via phishing links that mimic the real site. Genuine Absher is always on absher.sa or my.absher.sa — no other domain.
