Absher is a platform operated by the Saudi Ministry of Interior that links digital services across four main sectors: Passports, Traffic, Civil Affairs, and Civil Defense. Launched officially in 2010 and expanded gradually since, it now delivers more than 160 government services via absher.sa or its official app.

The platform relies on Nafath, the unified national digital identity, allowing one Absher account to sign in to other government platforms like Tawakkalna, Najiz, Tam, and Sehha.

Common Problems and Fixes

• "Mobile number doesn't match": the number entered isn't registered in your name with your telecom. Check your operator app (myStc, My Mobily, Zain) and update ownership data with your ID.
• "My account is locked from failed attempts": after 5 wrong entries, the account locks for 24 hours. Wait, then use "Forgot Password".
• "The SMS code doesn't arrive": could be call/SMS forwarding or blocked. Try in better reception, or use "Resend Code" after 60 seconds.
• "Can't activate via bank app": some banks offer an "Absher Activation" option in the side menu. If yours doesn't, use an ATM.
• "ID not recognized": check the ID expiry. Expired IDs cannot create accounts.

Account Security — Non-Negotiables

• Never share your username or password with anyone, even someone claiming to be from the Ministry. The Ministry never calls asking for these.

• Never open Absher links from SMS or WhatsApp — type the URL directly in your browser.
